Slow speed street skills

Auckland Bike Night

A free community event for anyone looking to upskill or maintain their motorcycle riding skills.

What is bike night?

Bike Night is a free motorcycle community event that takes place regularly in Auckland. It is designed to provide a designated space for beginners and experienced riders to practice their slow-speed motorcycle skills.

A range of courses are set up in the Albany Westfield car park, and riders are free to practice their skills. Bike Night Organisers are on hand to offer support and tips.

As well as promoting motorcycle safety, Bike Night also offers riders a chance to connect and socialise with other riders.

Why practise slow-speed skills?

Slow-speed motorcycle skills are crucial for riders because they enhance control and safety in various real-world scenarios. Manoeuvring a motorcycle at low speeds demands a high level of balance, finesse, and coordination. Whether navigating through congested traffic, executing tight U-turns, or parking in a crowded car park, mastering slow-speed riding helps riders maintain stability and avoid accidents. These skills not only boost a rider’s confidence but also reduce the likelihood of dropping the bike or colliding with obstacles, making them an essential component of safe and enjoyable motorcycling.
